This photo has some great potential, I think. Great composition, and the purples of the irises go nicely with the greens, grays and browns.

Have you considered working with the contrast of this photo and your others? There is a way to do it with the levels or curves tool in Photoshop, or in GIMP if you prefer free programs.

In those tools, there are three eyedroppers - black, gray and white. Click the black eyedropper and then find the darkest pixel in the picture, then click on that pixel. Next, click on the gray eyedropper and click the pixel closest to neutral gray. Finally, click the white eyedropper and click on the lightest pixel in the picture. That will make the contrast and everything look better.

Another thing you can do is tweak the blue, red or green in the levels or curves filter, depending on what you'd like to bring out. Adding a little red or blue can make those irises stand out. Tweaking the red and green can make the squirrel the star, and brighten the centers of the irises, while just tweaking the green can make the stems and grass look greener. Tweaking both the blue and green(just a little of course) can bring out both the grass and flowers.

Also, I'd recommend using the dodge tool to make some of the areas a little bit lighter - use it with a very soft brush, especially on the lighter areas of the squirrel. Then use the burn tool on some of the darker areas and maybe use the saturate tool on the grass or irises just a tiny bit, depending on what you want the viewer to focus on.

Hope ya don't mind a really long, heavy critique, but I really like this photo, and I love flowers and squirrels. I hope you try out what I mentioned and maybe make a print of it.
