I was devastated when both Warren and Sanders dropped out. The only thing we who want our country back is to get Biden into office (even if we don't like the man). Once we've done that we then proceed to vote on bills within our own state governments that Sanders, Warren, and others of like minds are going to push for, such as: anti-corruption, voting rights, the ERA (this one alone should hopefully stop the taking of women's rights), repair the political system, the Green New Deal, free higher education, and many more important legislation that McConnell has blocked repeatedly.
I'm not normally a politically active person but after what's been happening under the last few presidents culminating in the ruinous leadership under #45, I feel I need to do what I can even if that only means paying attention and voting. I may be a baby boomer but unlike too many of my peers, I don't want the "good old days" to return. I want a better future for my kids and myself.
If you feel the same, I strongly suggest you check out Represent Us and UC Berkeley professor, former Secretary of Labor and Co-Founder of Inequality Media Robert Reich on facebook. Both sites are well worth your time with excellent videos that detail what's been happening to our country and what, if anything, the American people can do to get our voice back that the present government has taken from us and kick the oligarchy out. To be heard and to actually make changes we need to vote on bills presented to our own state governments which, in turn, will force the Feds to do the same. This is how we got some major bills passed years ago, on things such as women's and blacks voting rights, gay marriages, marijuana use, clean water and air, etc.
Suggest you watch these really informative videos: "Unbreaking America: Divided We Fall" and "Jennifer Lawrence: We are witnessing a total political system failure in America". Both these videos give me hope that we can do something. Also, if you want or need to know how our government was supposed to be run and what has happened instead then check out Robert Reich's videos. He's a great speaker, explaining things in plain and understandable language.
I'm tired of feeling helpless, aren't you?
